Between exhibitions...

Between exhibitions, the museum team (with the city of Yverdon and external contractors) often does essential renovation work.
This year, second and ground floors were revamped before the beginning of the install of the new show, dedicated to the work of Mervyn Peake.
Next year, the first floor will be completely redone in order to create new exhibitions spaces...
Swisscube, the first Swiss satellite

On Wednesday September 23rd, the first Swiss Satellite, SwissCube, was launched from Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) SHAR, Sriharikota, India, at 08h16 Swiss time.
The museum was associated with the event in inviting all local participants to the project to a launch-breakfast in the morning to see the satellite being launched live...
Summer University at the Museum

During the whole summer, a special university session has been organized around the theme "A museum of fine arts in the 21st century" in Yverdon-les-Bains. On September 1st, a whole day of talks was hosted at Maison d'Ailleurs around Utopias and Museums, with many specialits.
