"Swiss Design in Hollywood" in Kiev

Swiss Design in Hollywood, created by Maison d'Ailleurs for Pro Helvetia (the Swiss Arts Council) is presented in Kiev (Ukraine) from December 8th 2008 at the Kinopalast cinema.
Five films and 35 exhibition panels form the core part of the show
Swiss Design in Hollywood retraces the work and impact of Swiss artists in the areas of design and digital imagery in international film production. It shows works by H. R. Giger, John Howe, Christian L. Scheurer, Deak Ferrand and many more...
A large and interested audience came to listen to John Howe (concept artist for "The Lord of the Rings" film trilogy) at the opening.

The Association of Science Fiction and Fantasy Artists (ASFA) recently announced their 2007 awards, based on the vote of working artist members. James Gurney's Dinotopia: Journey to Chandara was chosen in the "Best Interior Illustration" category. Congratulations to Jim! The original artwork for the book can be seen at Maison d'Ailleurs in the Return to Dinotopia show, currently open!
