Back To Dinotopia
by James Gurney
October 4, 2008 to March 8, 2009
A few years ago, the American artist James Gurney revealed to us the existence of a lost island where dinosaurs and humans live in harmony: The Dinotopia exhibition attracted then a large audience at the Maison d’Ailleurs.
Today, we invite you to a new enchanting journey with Professor Arthur Denison. Destination: Chandara, the prohibited Empire. Between a 15-meters high firefighter-Brachiosaurus and a maternal-Allosaurus, surprises abound on the road.
In Back To Dinotopia, more than fifty new paintings give life to a timeless place where dinosaurs and prehistoric mammals are represented with scientific rigor. Panting, humorous and philosophical, the Dinotopia’s universe shines from an optimism that illuminates all the wonders that are often ignored by our own world.
Since 1992, the world of Dinotopia has been available in four illustrated books, but also through twenty novels for young people, several video games, a television serie and a cartoon.
