Poetical particles by Stéphane Halleux
September 11, 2011 to January 8, 2012
The Maison d’Ailleurs will be exhibiting the magical and marvelous sculptures of the Belgian artist-artisan Stéphane Halleux.
Refusing any aesthetical categorization but conciliating with those attached to his work, the Belgian artist gets his inspiration from our reality – the material used comes from daily life – while transposing it in a universe both warm and offbeat. This creative process is a rule of Art: transforming what is most familiar to us to reinterpret it and give it a new meaning; in other words, to fictionalize it in order to reinvent it in a better way.
Sixty original and unique works, which are mostly lent by private collectors from all over Europe, will enliven the museum and will offer an unforgettable experience to its visitors. Throughout these astonishing figures created by an incredible and talented artist, everyone will be able to explore their imagination, reinvent themselves as the hero of a “steampunk” universe and confront their inner selves in order to think differently.
