Music and Science Fiction
March 7, 2010 to August 1, 2010
Space rock, cosmic jazz, scifidelic, futurepop: some many expressions that reflect the links between Science Fiction (SF) and Music. Many musicians have used the metaphorical potential of SF to express their own vision of Life, giving birth to an original synthesis of the two major expression forms of the 20th century’s popular culture.
To discover these unknown parts of the popular music history, the Maison d’Ailleurs offers a route composed by 324 LPs (1950-1990) belonging to the museum’s collections, as well as video and movie clips, old posters and strange instruments.
