Jean-Michel Margot Collection
Jules Verne collection
2008
Jean-Michel Margot’s collection is specialized on Jules Verne’s novels and work. It contains many studies of the writings and the author of the Extraordinary Journeys, as well as many adaptations and derivations.
The collection includes a great deal of rare pieces: a complete collection of Jules Verne’s novels that belonged to the Hetzel family, more than a hundred in-octavo in a single or double format in various paperbacks, more than three hundred editions in an in-18 format, more than three hundred current French editions, which cover the 19th Century and the contemporary period. The French fictions are supported by many foreign versions and, in particular, four hundred British and American, old and modern editions that are sometimes quite rare.
On the one hand, the collection also contains some objects, toys, models, posters, postcards, stamps, around 375 comic books and a hundred movie posters and, on the second hand, is completed by thousands of documents that can be useful to scholars (articles, introductions, thesis, biographies, literary studies, etc…).
