MondialeTM is a “fictionalized” art book, merging the fascinating hybrid bodies of Beb-deum, a virtuoso of digital art, with the fragmented and credible fiction of Alain Damasio, science fiction author and recipient of the Grand Prize of Imaginary Writing. This encounter has led to something more than just a beautiful book with lovely literary prose, which in itself would be significant. It’s more like an anthropologist’s lost notebook from the future. A notebook that condenses into a single unit of paper a sales catalogue of human beings, such as hypercapitalism will most certainly produce, recording the words of these future “clownes” – slaves sometimes freed, fugitive clones, rebelling against their programmed docility – and who think! It is a highly political book as it fervently portrays this globalised icon of the hybrid body, yellow, black or white, saturated with the marks of its alienation and unique in its albeit serialised beauty.
